Italy re-conquers the USA. Italian wine grew by 3.8%, against +3.4% for transalpines

According to the Vinitaly-Nomisma elaborations on a customs basis, in the first two months of 2018 Italian wine is the first on the American market with 243 million euros, exceeding 16 million French exports (227 million euros). The detailed analysis of the presence of Italian wine in the USA will be presented on the day of the inauguration of the next Vinitaly in the meeting: ‘The future of markets, the markets of the future: first in the United States?’ purchase, preferences, Italian perception and future consumer trends in 5 States (New York, California, Illinois, Minnesota, Winsconsin).  The exploit of the usual sparkling (+18.3%) was the result of the simultaneous collapse of the champagne (-23.1%); on the bottlenecks the Italian trend remains stable (+0.8%) while Paris scores +16.6%, thanks to the rosé de Provence. Behind Italy and France, according to the surveys, there is New Zealand (+33.9%). Australia is bad (-23.3%) and Spain (-5.4%).
