The city of “Romeo and Juliet” all in celebration

Vinitaly and The City 2018 will turn on Verona with a journey that tells the whole of Italy passing from Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Campania to Sicily, to the Champagne experience accompanied by a starred cuisine  The route has a sparkling start, with Sparkling and Arts at the Arco dei Gavi in which the champagne Maxime Blin meets gourmet cuisine in the guise of street food.

To accompany the sparkling notes of champagne and gourmet street food, the swing notes of the Sweet Peanuts Swing Quartet, the soul with the voice of Silvia Fortes, the vintage sounds of Jazzica Rabbit and the beat of Gengi Ska.

The course continues along the Regaste San Zeno, with Shakespeare and Wine: a theatrical tour with actors, musicians and tour guides, to discover hidden corners and links of Verona, to find the traces of the works that the Bard set in Veneto. From Hamlet to Romeo and Juliet, from the Merchant of Venice to the Domitian and the Otello, to get to Piazza San Zeno.

Piazza San Zeno, all at the pace of Folk & Wine with the unique flavors and sounds of Emilia – Romagna (it will host the traditional Casadei Orchestra).

Continue to the Arsenale Fountain with the unique atmosphere of Sicily, its wines, colors and traditions. The square, with a very special setting on the walkway in the middle of the water, symbol of the island, will also host a copy of the statue of the Dancing Satyr of Mazara del Vallo.

The route continues on Lungadige San Giorgio, where the festive atmosphere of Naples and Campania will come to life: an explosion of taste with the typical Neapolitan products including Gragnano pasta served with piennolo tomatoes, San Marzano and typical vegetables. Neapolitan fried pizza, all seasoned with the sounds of the Neapolitan folk tradition and a special tribute to Pino Daniele.

Crossing Ponte Pietra, the visitor will continue his itinerary up to Piazza delle Erbe to experience the tasting at high altitude, at the top of the Torre dei Lamberti: an exclusive spot blended by the Consorzio DOC delle Venezie Pinot Grigio, to more than 80 meters high!

Penultimate stop of the route, Cortile Mercato Vecchio, with the review Sorsi D’Autore: an unmissable opportunity with the best authors of the Italian publishing scene and the finest wines.

Last stop of the route, Piazza dei Signori, the beating heart of the city of Verona. In this square, for the first time in Verona, the Digital Room will take place: an innovative space that will unite real and virtual, a meeting point for guests, influencers and bloggers.

The digital room will also be home to the “social and multimedia editorial board” of the Social Media Team of Vinitaly and the City, composed of the Ambadassors of Vinitaly and the City, 30 boys between 20 and 30 who will talk about the event through social media.
